Our Mission, Vision and Values

Our Mission
The Mission of Development Associates International is to enhance the integrity and effectiveness of Christian leaders worldwide so that the Church can fulfil its role in extending the Kingdom of God.
The Mission of DAI UK is to provide culturally relevant training and learning resources to enable and empower effectiveness and greater maturity in Christian leaders, principally in Africa and Asia, at all levels and types of leadership.
- Our mission in DAI UK is to provide the resources and framework for the indigenous training of leaders
- Our focus is on those parts of the world where resources are scarce
- DAI works through local ministry centres (or with partners who have a similar ethos to that of DAI) ensuring that training and support are in true partnership with the needs of the local church
- DAI is committed to promoting an interactive learning approach and one in which leaders can apply what they are learning to their specific setting and situation
- Leadership training is a long-term commitment where mentoring relationships can ensure the practical implementation of material learned in training workshops
- Teaching and mentoring in leadership are batons that DAI seek to pass to emerging leaders, that they in turn can equip their congregations & communities, and themselves develop new leaders.
Our Vision
DAI UK’s Vision is to see Christian leaders worldwide demonstrating mature and godly leadership in their lives and ministries and impacting their congregations and communities in fulfilling the ministry to which God has called them.
- Our vision is for the church to have leaders that are able to cut across the cultural norms of their society and culture and demonstrate Christ-like leadership
- Christ-like leadership is servant leadership
- Developing integrity of life and a servant’s heart are basic building blocks for leaders who will impact lives and society in the name of Christ
- Effective servant leaders will allow the purposes of God to be worked out through their ministry, and therefore change the lives of individuals inside and outside the church
Our Values
DAI is committed to: effectiveness, integrity, humility, partnering, mentoring, holism, biblical standards and to reaching those with the least access.
- DAI seeks to model leadership that is rooted in integrity and effectiveness. Proverbs 11:3, Proverbs 10:9
- DAI's priority is Christian leaders who have the least access to spiritual, human and material resources. Matthew 28:18-20, Matthew 25:40, 45
- DAI seeks to serve, churches, organizations, and individuals with humility and respect for their calling before God. 2 Chronicles 16:9; Zechariah 4:6-10
- DAI is committed to partnering with others who seek to enhance all members of the Body of Christ regardless of their national origin, gender, role, or ethnicity. 2 Thessalonians 1:11-12
- DAI affirms that leadership development is a lifelong process done primarily on the job through mentoring with our Lord Jesus Christ as the ultimate model and mentor. John 15:4-11
- DAI will always endeavour to uphold biblical standards as the true measure of all leadership and not cultural standards while recognizing as essential the adaptation of language, style and form in communication. 2 Peter 1:3-8
- DAI affirms the holism of the Kingdom where there is no dichotomy between evangelism, personal and social transformation. Luke 4:18-20, James 2:26, Matthew 21:43
