MA Programme

I am glad to let you know that my fellow Burundian citizens and I are benefiting through this MA programme. It is useful not only to us as students but also to the Burundian church and the whole nation. I hope that, given the relevance of the material and the determination I have of putting it into practice, and in communion with other Burundian brethren who are also following it, a new era is coming soon in the Burundi Christianity. (Emmie, MA student in Burundi)

MA Manual.jpgDAI works in partnership with local Christian Universities and Seminaries in Africa and Asia to offer an MA course in Organisational Leadership. This degree course gives an opportunity for Christian leaders in the majority world to obtain a higher-level degree without having to come to the west to study. It is a three year, part-time non-residential course, although students are required to attend a one-week residency twice a year for the duration of the course. This enables them to continue in their work and with their families and enables them to apply what they are learning immediately in the places where they are ministering.

This programme, which is Biblically-based, offers a variety of courses including Leadership, Strategic Thinking, Finance and Integrity, Development and Social Change, Coaching and Mentoring, Teaching and Learning for Impact, Partnerships and Spiritual Disciplines. All students are also required to write a personal research project which is practical and which they should be able to put into action.

The MA in Organisational Leadership is currently available in ten countries in English and in French.

The impact of the program on the lives of the participants is transformational. Students learn to apply their course work both in their places of work and in their churches as well as in their personal lives.

DAI provides the courses, materials and staff for the degree programme while the partnering institution issues the degree. Students pay the tuition rate of the local partnering institution making it affordable for them. Because DAI’s costs exceed the local tuition rate, it is important to find churches and individuals who will financially support the remainder of the costs of this programme.
