Leadership Workshops
DAI helps leaders grow in their personal integrity, spiritual life, leadership effectiveness and management skills and does it through creating and delivering interactive leadership workshops. Wherever possible, DAI works through experienced local Christian leaders who make sure that the training materials are firmly rooted in the local culture, so that people can immediately apply what they are learning to their own situations. Pierre in Burkina Faso puts it like this, “African leadership is culturally about being the chief, having ultimate power, not just on the job, but at home too. We have transferred that model to the church and it has caused many problems. This DAI course taught me that there is another way. It has changed the way I lead.”
Using interactive and informal training workshops, which include case studies, discussion groups, through-proving questions and application exercises, leaders learn more about the essentials of Christ-like servant-leadership, something they have may not have ever experienced in their own culture. Leaders are also encouraged to develop strong patterns of spiritual life and are challenged to act with integrity in all that they do.
DAI’s leadership training courses and workshops have been developed over a number of years by carefully listening to the needs of leaders in the majority world.
Countries where we are helping leaders be more effective in their leadership roles currently include Uganda, Sudan, South Africa, Egypt, Nigeria, Togo, India, Nepal, Cotes d’Ivoire, Papua New Guinea, Russia and countries in Central Asia.
